Julie Bergan is a licensed occupational therapist and has been a part of Therapeutic Links since 2003. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee with a Master's of Science in Occupational Therapy. Julie's career trainings include MNRI (Masgutova Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration and is working towards a Core Specialist in MNRI), Therapeutic Listening, Interactive Metronome, Myofascial release, NDT, Healing Touch, CranioSacral Therapy, The Alert Program, Handwriting Without Tears, SOS Feeding therapy, MORE (Integrating the Mouth with Sensory and Postural functions), as well as additional occupational therapy courses focusing on sensory integration, attention, infant massage, mindfulness, handwriting and body strengthening. Julie is a certified aquatic therapist through Aquatic Therapy and Rehab Institute (ATRI) and is completing her certification of raindrop massage through the Center of Aromatherapy Research and Education (CARE). Julie is also a credentialed Illinois Early Intervention Evaluator and Provider. At Therapeutic Links, she is the fieldwork coordinator, as well as the go-to person for our electronic documentation system, Raintree. Her passion is helping children experience and enjoy their true occupation: Play! Outside of Therapeutic Links, Julie assists with a local hospital’s neonatal specialty care nursery. She is also pursuing her interest towards her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy and becoming an adjunct professor in OT. For over 10 years, Julie has also been a part of Camp Avanti , an intensive sensory integrative camp for children, volunteering not only as the lead therapist on the Challenge (a canoe camping adventure for teens), but also recently as a member of the Avanti Board of Directors. Outside of OT, you will see Julie running half marathons and 10ks throughout the country with her husband, Kelly, participating in triathlons, hiking with her dog, Remmie, or traveling with her family to the University of North Dakota’s Fighting Sioux hockey games.
